Many landlords and private rental agencies find their properties are left with copious amounts of rubbish, especially bulky items. We will call your property and offer a free quote to remove the bulky items. We search for and remove all manner of furniture, white goods and other large items. You will then be able to get your property ready for your next tenant. You can book our team to remove either one thing or several items. We are happy to advise you of the information on our charges.
Flats and Housing Estates
We can take bulky items from flats and housing estates. We can set up regular collections and household searches for all used or unwanted large items. If there is a garden area, we will remove all excess garden waste. When we carry out house clearances and waste removals in Kent, we come across many large discarded furniture, including white goods, sofas, beds, tables and other large items often found in the home. We aim to recycle as many of these items as possible to reduce waste in landfill.
How To Prepare Bulky Waste for Collection
There are several ways in which you can prepare your bulky waste collections for removal. Some of your items may be eligible or suitable to be taken to your local charity shops. However, it is best to check their website pages for information to decipher whether the waste you acquire is up to their standards.
If possible, leave any bulky waste outside of your home or on the ground floor where they are detectable to those where you can safely stack it. It will prevent any safety hazards. However, if this isn't possible, do not worry. We will check with you before our arrival to collect your items to see where they are. We might need to supply more of our team to lift and remove them and take extra measures due to Covid 19 restrictions.
It may be that you are a landlord searching to have heavy items removed out of the building so that new tenants may move in, or you are physically unable to remove them yourself. If you have one, you may store some of your waste, household items and unwanted goods in your garden area. We will also take any excess garden waste.
It is not required for you stay or be at home on the day of collection. Clear It Away will be happy to collect your waste between times 8 am and 6 pm. It would be useful to give us a 24-hour notice prior if you would like to cancel your collection request, as this makes the process a lot easier both ways. You can find our number and email to do so here on the page.
Please make sure to speak with any caretakers or housing managers if you are unsure of where to place any bulky waste you may have for the collection removal.
You can prepare your waste collections for us to take by ensuring any used goods like fridges or freezers are free of foods and liquids. You can check your washing machines and tumble driers to make sure drums are empty of clothing items. We would be appreciative if you could also cover up any large mirrors or glass cabinets, perhaps with a fabric cover or bubble wrap, to ensure that they do not shatter, leaving broken glass on a public path or highway.

What Will Not Be Collected as Bulky Waste?
We aim to recycle as many items as possible as our main aim is to vastly reduce the amount of waste that eventually ends up in landfills. However, there are several items we cannot accept. Any hazardous waste (anything flammable, corrosive, poisonous or potentially explosive) must be handled through different means and is not considered bulky waste. Our services have a waste collection carrier licence issued by the County Council in Kent, and we cannot remove clinical related waste, gas canisters, oil drums or asbestos.
Will You Collect My Unwanted Furniture?
Yes, we can collect any unwanted furniture, big or small, here at Clear It Away. If your items fit any of the above criteria, they may be collected by us as we sort to reduce landfill waste or prevent you from the prices of skips and the fine that comes with fly-tipping. We would prefer you contact us with any unwanted furniture as we are open to making ourselves useful to dispose of your bulky waste ethically.
At Clear It Away, our services deal with waste in three different collection service areas; Household waste is known as Bulky waste, Commercial waste and Builders waste. The waste collections classed as the bulky item can include larger items that are no longer required, for example, renovation waste, excess debris from D.I.Y. projects, builders waste and old furniture.
Bulky waste collection specifies as something that will not fit in your non-recyclable bin or black bin liners. Although Clear it Away will take black bin bags as part of an extensive collection. The collection teams at Clear It Away can collect a wide variety of items from residents. For example, we allow assembled wardrobes, chests of drawers or cabinets, single and double beds and other bedroom furniture, alongside armchairs that must be clean, dry, and fire compliant. We also take dining tables, kitchen units and worktops, large glass mirrors, fridges and freezers, tumble driers and washing machines.
Small electrical items can be repaired or recycled through a recycling bank. Still, you may also arrange a collection for the electrical waste of a larger kind if it is in good condition.
